H. altitens
3889 AD
Cape Columbia
Ellesmere Island in Nunavut coordinates 83°078 N.
Evolved from modern H. sapiens in response to the environmental devastation caused by atmospheric depletion during the Oil Age, particularly in the extreme northern latitudes.
As oxygen levels thinned, Homo altitens developed enlarged lungs and enhanced circulation, allowing them to thrive in low-oxygen environments similar to high altitudes. Their skin adapted to extreme cold and radiation exposure, growing insulation layers and exhibiting a heightened resistance to UV damage.
