Costume concept sketches from a cancelled project from last year

Trying to find balance between feathered soft edges and hard static shapes in an all-white palette, using 2-3 types of fabrics. Client asked that I stay very loose and suggestive so they had room to sample lots of different materials. The silhouettes were most important, idea was to use wire piping to make ‘wings’ that could lift from the body, creating ethereal, gravity-defying silhouettes. I liked the idea of making a sort of ‘heaviness’ to some of the garments, while they still floated like clouds.

You can see some client notes I left in during some live drawing calls. Too bad we never did a second round, I envisioned the next silhouettes even more godlike & extra.
